The Myth of Fox Spirit

Brief Introduction

This is a very popular tale about a lurid story in a military battalion. A girl in red entered a guarded military battalion. Soldiers installed an electronic web on the wall upon the battalion commander's order. They finally caught the girl and unexpectedly found that the girl was actually a fox. One month later, the commander hung himself to death.

Story:

  1. There used to be a guarded military battalion a few miles away from our village in the 60s or 70s.
  2. One day, the battalion commander came for an inspection. He saw a girl in red wandering in the battalion.
  3. The commander ordered the soldiers to catch the girl, but the girl disappeared with a jump.
  4. The commander questioned the guards at the two gates. Surprisingly, no guard saw anybody enter the battalion.

  Commander: What is going on? How can you guys let the others enter our battalion?

  Soldiers: Commander, we really did not see anybody enter.

  1. A few weeks later, the commander came again for an inspection tour. He saw the girl again. The furious commander grabbed a soldier and questioned him. Meanwhile, the girl disappeared again.

Commander: What on earth is going on? Do you want to die?

Soldier: Commander, I really did see nothing!

  1. The commander and the soldiers got confused, very much. They were dying to catch the girl. Therefore, they decided to install an electronic web on the wall.

Commander: et's how can she run away this time.

  1. A few weeks later, the girl came again as expected. The commander ordered the connection of the electronic web. The girl was very upset to see it. She tried to escape. But she got shocked and fell to the ground.
  2. Commander: Go ahead, connect the electronic web!
  3. To people's surprise, the girl was a fox that was shocked to death.
  4. One month later, the commander hung himself to death for no reason. Is that because the fox came back for revenge? Nobody knew the answer.
